Robert progressed from assistant teacher to head teacher. During this time, he added extra experience and qualifications in special education culminating in the higher degree of Master of Education from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. He took early retirement and worked as an advisor for a local authority and then as an independent educational consultant and inspector for Ofsted for several years.
Two of his children attended Bedlington Academy and now two of his grandchildren are progressing through the academy. Robert is delighted to serve on the new board of governors to help the new academy go forward and ensure all students achieve their full potential.
