Year 10 students, Phoebe Taylor-Walker and Aleysha Harness, went to Gateshead College this week to compete in the local finals of the Future Chef competition.
The girls had a budget of £7 to create a main course and dessert for two people which was nutritionally balanced, displayed high skill, was well flavored and beautifully presented. Both students produced excellent dishes and received a certificate and recipe book for their efforts.
Phoebe created a roasted tomato, pancetta and garlic risotto topped off with a parmesan crisp followed by a traditional tiramisu.
Aleysha served up crunchy chicken goujons, spiced sweet potato wedges and homemade coleslaw followed by a gooey chocolate brownie.
Well done girls!
