A huge well done to kind-hearted student, Carlton Ashman, who saved up his pocket money for a whole year to buy Christmas presents for the residents of a local care home.
Margaret Harn, one of the home's delighted residents, said: “To do such a kind and generous thing at any age would be wonderful, but for a young lad who is just thirteen-years-old to be so selfless is remarkable. I can honestly say on behalf of the residents here that he’s made our Christmas.”
Not satisfied with his generous Christmas gesture, Carlton has already started planning an Easter egg appeal for children at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
