Bedlington Youth Theatre have been working hard when applying for a position on the National Connections Festival 2022.
Each year the National Theatre commissions ten new plays for young people to perform, bringing together some of the UK's most exciting writers with the theatre-makers of tomorrow. Our performance group have been chosen to produce Hunt by Fionnuala Kennedy which explores the unwanted and anticipated transition from childhood to adulthood.
The production will take place here at Bedlington Academy on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th March and tickets are now available via Scopay. The performance is open to audiences from Year 8 and over. A professional theatre director from the National Theatre will be viewing one of the home performances prior to offering feedback to the cast and creative team so that they can reshape the production for the performance run as part of the National Connections Festival 2022 at The Firestation in Sunderland. The Festival ends in London whereby a group of young performers will be selected to perform at the National Theatre.
