Just before half term, Year 9 students took part in the school heats of the Future Chef competition, it was a very successful evening that saw students producing some incredible dishes.

The winners of the heat were: Phoebe Taylor-Walker with her arancini balls with a tomato dipping sauce; and Aleysha Harness with her chicken goujons, sweet potato fries and coleslaw. Both students made all elements of their dishes from scratch.

Design and technology teacher, Miss Malcolm, will now take the two winners to Gateshead College on November 26 to compete against other students from across Northumberland and Tyneside.
